Vail-USA
One of the finest ski resorts in the world, Vail's main reputation is for fulfilling
the demands of the most expert skier. Its reputation centres around the awesome powder
of its seven Back Bowls. While skiers wait for the snow to fill them out, the double-blacks
at the front provide most skiers with more than enough fun and challenging entertainment.
COURCHEVEL- FRANCE
Courchevel has a reputation for
WHISTLER- CANADA
With six massive high-alpine powder bowls, including one called Doom & Gloom, Whistler
is most definitely firmly on the map of thrill-seekers. Annual snow-fall of over
30 feet make sure there's plenty of off-piste and powder. For advanced skiers there
are the adjoining Whistler and Blackcombe Mountains here in Canada's British Columbia.
Blackcombe has steepness with long glacial descents whilst Whistler has bumps, couloirs,
bowls and chutes. A wonderful experience in my opinion.
SERRE CHEVALIER- FRANCE
The phrase biggest is best is defintely not applicable here. Serre Chevalier doesn't
have the kilometreage of many other cross country resorts, with only around 35kms
of marked trails, but it does on the other hand have an excellent snow record and
300 days of sunshine a year with traditional French ambience. The area consists of
four widespread villages with good links to other resorts for downhill skiers.Just
now a well kept secret. Unfortunately in time that will surely change.
LIVIGNO- ITALY
An all-round resort in the Valtellina alpine valley near the Swiss border, Livigno
retains its traditional rustic character and with high altitude, sunny skiing and
30 kilometres of cross-country skiing. There's plenty of entertainment and accommodation
for all price ranges and tastes. As well as cross-country skiing there is intermediate
skiing which is fun and very wide ranging. Other available activities include snow
shoeing, skidoo-ing, horse riding, skating and sleigh rides. So here are just 6 wonderful
places for you to ski from ski wax.

being the world's best ski resort. The area consists of four villages on four different
levels. Courchevel at 1850 is the highest and all four villages are linked by a
combination of ski lifts and a ski buses. It has excellent beginners slopes with
much more challenging skiing higher up. Other activities include a dedicated snowboarding
park, as well as ice skating rinks, tobogganing runs and even ice climbing.
KANDERSTEG- SWITZERLAND
Kandersteg is a GREAT place to learn to ski with excellent teachers and fantastic
beginner slopes. It is also a paradise for cross-country skiers with an 60 kilometres
of trails around the village and if you include the nearby Lauchermalp ski area this
total rises to a very impressive 95 kilometres .And to top that off there's a 4.5
kilometre night trail that's illuminated from 6pm-9pm weekdays. If you purchase "Trail
Pass" you have access to all areas. The pass is a bargain and a must purchase for
all who visit here. The trails are beautifully maintained and pass by scenic forests
and streams.
